“Love always finds a way and wins.” – This phrase best describes Aanchal and Roshan’s wedding celebrations in the new normal.
We began planning months in advance, after multiple décor discussions the celebrations were beginning to shape up. Lots of ideas, designs and finally, we were at the last leg. Aanchal and Roshan’s fairytale wedding was held at DoubleTree by Hilton, Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, with 5 different events spanned for 3 days. In a few days, 250 guests from all across the globe would be arriving to see this grand wedding at one of our favorite venues.
Just then, imagine to our surprise, the authorities announced a reduction in the permissible number of attendees at an event. We then learned that the number was brought down to 10 for any social gathering. In events, we always have a plan B but to reduce the number of guests to such an extent was a first.
The family was able to get approvals from the authorities with a guarantee that Covid norms will be maintained and everyone at the wedding will get a PCR Covid test.
As a décor professional, we were able to adhere to all the regulations and make alterations to our plans within a night. The entire floor plan had to be changed along with décor that needed to be spaced out accordingly.
We worked tirelessly to reset and set everything up in time for the grand celebrations to begin. The magical décor enumerated a unique vibe to all the events and took away everyone’s heart.
An intimate dinner with the immediate family members on valentine’s day was a perfect kick-off to the #AaRo wedding celebration. A perfect romantic setting with the backdrop of the Arabian gulf set the mood just right. Sparkling candles, lights, and roses created a mesmerizing ambience for all the guests. An Arabian-themed dinner was a great way to start celebrations especially when most of the family had travelled from across the globe.
The Mehendi ceremony was a colorful Indian carnival affair. The idea was to blend loud colors with class and extravagance as it was a day setting. Hanging tassels and umbrellas along with a swing at the entrance served paan to welcome guests. We set up a beautiful bridal swing adorned by a floral rim that formed the frame to the Arabian Gulf as the backdrop. A pink Vespa with traditional colorful umbrellas as a backdrop was the perfect photo booth for guests to take quirky pictures.
The 9m long truck bar and the truck facades serving as live stations emphasizing the Indian carnival theme were the highlights of the event. The existing wooden tables and chairs were accessorized with colorful overlays and ribbons since we were keen on not leaving any space/element dull.
The couple made a grand entry with their friends with color bombs. Antakshri by The Wedding Anchor – Junaid added an extra dose of entertainment for the guests.
The couple wanted their sangeet night to be the highlight of their entire guest experience. Unfortunately, due to the sudden implementation of covid regulations, we had to shift the sangeet night from a large-scale desert event to an indoor small-scale ballroom event.
A black and gold-themed sangeet with a touch of red floral was the perfect setting for a memorable and enthusiastic ceremony. The ballroom had a lit stage with a split LED screen as a backdrop for a spectacular couple entry, an island bar with hanging lights, and an LED infinity dance floor for endless entertainment. Round mirror tables and gold chairs with red floral centerpieces contributed class.
The lobby area served as a transitional space between the ballroom and porch, consisting of a 3D photobooth to engage the crowd.
The outdoor porch had fairy-lit arches as entrance giving an impression of a gala night that the crowd had to look forward to. Fairy-lit canopies with couches formed intimate spaces for the crowd to relax and eat right beside the buffet.
The couple was amazed at how we managed to make their sangeet just as they wanted – MAGICAL.
The décor was spectacular along with the presence of family and the beautiful couple that just brought the whole event together. DJ Lemon kept everyone on their toes for hours. All in all, it was an enigmatic event and perfect to set the stage for the Pheras (Wedding) ceremony the next day.
And the story begins. A gorgeous mandap overlooking the Arabian Sea was set up for the couple to exchange their wedding vows. Everything came to a halt when our bride Aanchal, dressed in beautiful Sabyasachi Lehenga, walked down the aisle.
The rose petals blast turned the golden aisle red during the Jaimala. It was a sight to behold, right out of a fairy tale some would say.
A gold-framed bar lured the guest to get the party started. The dinner tables had gold domes as overheads with hanging crystals and pastel pink chairs, emphasizing our theme of elegance. An elegant dinner setup with soft music in the background gave a magical feel altogether.
The celebration ended with a fun-filled Marylin Monroe themed party. A checkered Marylin Monroe dance floor and DJ booth communicated this theme. We also added a ball pit as a very engaging fun element which not only served as a photobooth but also a place for people to jump into.
It was a magical moment when the couple walked through a tunnel with friends and families holding the sparklers in their hands.
Our job is to bring life to the couple’s vision of their grand day. With the discussions we held prior to the event, we knew Aanchal and Roshan would be a pleasure to work with, and we take pride in achieving their vision. Although we did the décor, we must say that the life of any event is the people. Oh, and what a bunch they are. During the entire event, each person was careful to wear a mask and create a safe environment for each other.
A big cheer to all for coming together and celebrating these special moments at the beginning of their life together as one.
