We met the families of Krishna and Lakshita in Dubai and the click was unmistakable. It was indeed a match made in heaven and we had our hearts set; the wedding experience must show it! Not just this, we also had some long skype conversations with Lakshita who was then based in Banglore, discussing her list and notes.
Starting with the wedding hashtag, although we really were rooting for #kmgetslucky (Krishna Mehra gets Lucky to get Lakshita), Krishna made a convincing case for #lmkmlovestory and cheesy as it may sound, we decided to go with two hashtags (mostly because our humble bride in all her child-like innocence agreed to go with it).
That being settled, we set off to create the heaven-like-grand experience; and what better place to make it happen than our very favourite destination wedding property at Fairmont in Ajman.
We kicked off the festivities at the beach making a huge impression, literally. The gigantic initials of Lakshita and Krishna (LK) which were set on the beach could be seen from every corner of the hotel. It absolutely struck the right chord to get the party going.
First, there was the Mehndi-on-the-Beach. A typical beach party streaked with pastel hues to set the mood just right. The beer-pong and spin-the-wheel caught right on. The party was soon in full-swing with the shots going down in the gaming area and the hands rising up in the air on the dance floor. With DJ Jeff and Walter taking on the console, the dance floor definitely became the hot-spot.
As the sun set against the backdrop of the vividly lit sea, it was time for the ‘Black-tie’ event. We were sure to catch up on some good moves which the families had been practicing for months.
The Sangeet-décor was themed ‘Starry Reflections’. The charm of mirrors and crystals were used to recreate the magic of the glittering starry nights. A glass dance-floor against the setting of perfect crystal chandeliers brought the theme to life. The gorgeous bride in her glimmering red flowy gown was a captivating sight to behold. The perfect evening was rounded up with a gala of family performances, sing-offs and dancing, lots and lots of it!
The following day was the grand finale. The Indian Wedding Day.
Dressed pretty in yellow, Lakshita attended her Haldi ceremony which was intricately crafted for a light, summery festive mood. Themed in hues of pink and yellow, the setting had lively and generous scatter of pinwheels and the traditional parandis-hung-canopy. The scenic Ajman shoreline in the background completed the perfect view.
It was now finally the time for the duo to tie-the-knot. Krishna’s baraat was as grand as the set-up we had ready for the ceremony. The mandap, set-up on the helipad was a picturesque view. Surrounded by water on three sides and floral Ganesh perched at the backdrop, it was awe-inspiring and just the thing for auspicious new beginnings.
And just like that, Mrs. And Mr. Mehra had a perfect end to a perfect day at the Pearl Garden with a lit stage, garden shimmering with fairy lights and our favourite band “Rooh” continuing the high notes of the evening with their entrancing performance!
The soft music at the Vidaai complemented the emotion-laden moment. With that, we called it a wrap!
Cheers to the couple for life-long celebrations!
